For example if you are low on stone, you could send your neighbour some wood, and he could send you some stone.

No, they will think you were just being kind so if you want to trade then let them know.

There is no limit but most 60+ players have none.
Since they can earn more Gold as rewards from hitting highly leveled NPC castles than they can get from taxes. Having no dwellings also lets them have more Farmhouses and Decorations and are hence able to support larger armies...

I have a question about the everwinter glacier. How many farmhouses is best to have? I don't use ruby deco items and no overseers and i have 6 max lvl dwellings. What is the best ammount of farmhouses to own?

I think you need about 10 maximum.

I knew thee was no limit, the second part is what I wanted to know.

Also, if I purchase the war banner (Or whatever makes your flag bigger and your castle glow) does it go on All my castles? And if I surrender an OP do I lose that war banner?

You will have it on all castles/OPs/RVs you own. If you lose an OP or an RV you still have the flag.
