We got both rewards. They were sent to us as gifts in game. We had 2 days time to accept the gifts. First one was sent on Sunday 27th and the other earlier today. They were both horror troops with mantlets

Have to agree this so called event has been a farce from start to finish, lots of fanfare and buildup about some super global event. You asked for feedback so i will try my best to be constructive.
the event starts and no one has a clue its started, nothing in game has changed at all, there is no info on what you are supposed to do, you have no idea if the targets are being achieved, no idea even what you are competing for, (which was eventuially rectified).
Even now there is no regular update on what the totals are, by the sounds of it some people have got prizes and others have not, I was under the impression it was a global event everyone got the same prizes??? I certainly have not seen the prizes others seem to have recieved?
I think the whole concept is flawed. The whole concept of games such as this is that there is an element of competition, you are competing against other alliances or other players in a race to see who can score the most etc. With this there is no competition, every player in the game is effectivly on the same side. You frankly may as well have just said we are giving you all an easter present, here is a 250 PO item. And a few bits of stuff.
If you are going to come up with an event concept, you need to make sure you have the ability to properly roll it out, it may be the best idea ever but if your programmers cant program it then it needs scrapping.
As a 100% bare minimum there needs to be a CLEAR up front explanation of exactly what the prizes are collectivly and individually. At exactly what level those prizes will be activated.
For example you have suggested the prize for the individual gaining the most glory in the event will win a prize to meet the designers. You need to be very very clear what that actually means, for example, you will win a VIP all expenses paid trip for 2 in Hamburg you will be collected from your home driven to the airport, flown first class to hamburg, where you will stay in a 5* hotel for 5 days, you will be collected from your hotel and given a once in a lifetime opportunity to view GGE headquarters and meet the chairman, and game designers, you will spend a day in various departments and be given a sneak preview of our new exciting ideas. ETC.
or will it be simply if you turn up in hamburg on xxx date you will be allowed to look around the building for a couple of hours?
What are the restrictions on winning the prize? T&C's is it over 18's only? given it will probably involve international travel? Have you thought about potential visa restrictions? All these things need to be much much more clearly thought about when you offer it out to the global community. I dont want to be a killjoy, but this just sounds like something someone dreamt up in their lunchtime. With very little thought on how it is actually going to work. I am all for dreamers dreaming up new exciting plans at the end of the day that the only way to be truly creative, but somewhere in your organisation there needs to be people who are able to turn those ideas into practical realities. And an assessment needs to be done on its feasability, before the idea is rolled out.
As you can see there is the world of difference between the 2 scenarios.
You probably know full well that the person who wins this prize will have to spend many many thousands to "win" it. So its only right and proper they know exactly whats on offer.
As a absolute minimum there needs to be a real time in game league table of global scores vs target, and as there is also an individual prize there needs to be a real time league table of indiviuals too. so players know who is winning and where they are in the rankings.
If you cant do this technically, then you cant really run an event such as this. And you need to run an event you can properly administrate!!!
