Topic: [345151] [Feedback needed] Shapeshifter Trial Run

[4881926] IronLord (US1) [None] :: Dec. 15, 2017, 11:38 p.m.
1. Distance too much
2. You can farm on hard by sending 32 men hits for easy points
3. Need equipment and better prizes added to shop.

Here is my feedback:

This event totally sucks.
Hire some programmers.
Fix the crap that is already broken.
Bring back events that were meaningful... read: Alliance Wars.
This is a team game... stop trying to make it into a solo one.
HOW MANY PLAYERS WILL YOU TOLERATE QUITTING OVER THIS bs EVENT?

[4881955] David Noble (US1) [None] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 12:35 a.m.
After looking at many of the complaints here it would seem as if this new event has a humble beginning with various different problems that need to be fixed including:

1. The burning of tools for attacking and the time it takes to reach a totem combined with little incentive for participation in the event for attacking and even defending.

2. GGS has talked about adding more rewards into the event and also the new set pieces as well, but they would definitely need to be worth getting as well. Although fine sand and/or bricks can be at least somewhat useful not necessarily everyone needs those either and especially top players who might be less likely to have interest in getting 230 public order decorations, fine sand, and/or bricks than the average player. The decorations could also be very difficult to get as well possibly and especially the decoration with 280 public order. Also important to keep in mind as well that the 245 public order decorations from Nomads and Samurais are fairly easy to get as well and so it should not be made too hard to get the 230 public order decorations either from this new event.

3. Numerous bugs that need to be fixed including commanders and heroes meant for castle lords not having all of their bonuses working from the hero and/or commander set against Shapeshifters to name only just one example out of many.

4. I would like to add that like other events and invasions perhaps their should also be special rewards for those who make the most points that nobody else can get instead of making it so the rewards only be made available through purchasing in order to increase interest in the event for top players.

5. Losing troops for attacking in hard mode could also be a waste of troops as well and so attacking would need to be made worthwhile as well if troops are going to be lost for attacking in hard mode. If hard mode does not reward enough points their might be very little incentive for using hard mode. Another alternative is for GGS to add tools into the game that can increase points only for the Shapeshifter event instead of only relying upon "hard mode" for extra points gained for attacking.

6. The huge common material sack might be the most useful out of all the bags that cost insignias, but very expensive for getting in insignias as well. Not sure why though the maximum amount for the huge common bag is not specified either unlike the other huge bags. It could also be 96 as well instead of being unspecified. Will people buy this bag if they do not know what the maximum amount is even though it displays the minimum amount? That could be a problem as well.

7. A little off the subject, but what about Berimond Invasion, Alliance Tournament, and Royal Capital? With the numerous bugs that this event has right from the start will any of these three ever be returned back into the game? I liked all three of those and especially the Alliance Tournament and Royal Capital, but this new event in contrast needs a lot of improvement.

Wait a minute, did I read this right? this is a trial run of this event?? what happened to the "test server"  isn't that where trial runs SHOULD be held?

Just don't don't attack the shapeshifters. You can't lose anything.

[4882031] roxholme2001 (US1) [US1] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 3:28 a.m.
Worst event ever introduced into the game. Not worth the effort.

Ties up troops for hrs, prizes not really worth having and full of bugs.

Is it too much to ask to TEST new events before putting them into the game?

This game is going downhill rather than improving.

hmmmm, then why am I losing defense tools under the bird?  and this before i even knew the event was in progress...

Positives

1. This event does have potential.
2. Good training ground for new alliance members
3. Ability to experiment with defending since there is no loss

Negatives.

1. In the current avatar, this event is a complete dud. No motivation what so ever to do anything
2. No loot - Given that attacks take a whole lot longer, the no loot aspect is a big negative specially for low level players who find it difficult managing food as it is during FL/BC events
3. The 5 Attack limit per day - is meaning less. This is NOT Balancing. This is against a lot of players who have more time at hands and hence do better at the game.
4. As everyone said - The rewards are quite atrocious.
5. This event also needs a dose of team play
6. The scoring mechanism needs to be more dynamic and updated live. I just completed my second cycle and the scorecard still shows results from yesterday.

Of course, I have not included the known bugs in this list.Without the bugs, this event would have been bad. With the bugs, I am afraid, I agree to most here - WORST EVENT EVER!

[4882049] KKP2112 (AU1) [AU1] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 4 a.m.
One thing many in my alliance feel and are saying.

No Glory
No Reso
Eats Tools

Don't want it.

Seriously all I been doing to mine is sam bombs coz I don't care enough to actually waste things on this event. One threatening to quit but he always does that when had a few beers.

[4882054] David Noble (US1) [None] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 4:09 a.m.
You could also attack with a small army, lose a battle, and send no tools, but still gain 5 charms each. All you got to do is use up 40 small attacks with no tools, but what is so fun about that when it should be more rewarding to win an attack rather than lose? Also, hard mode needs to be worth it as well when it comes to boosting points as well.

[4882062] fdfdssadsad3333 (US1) [None] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 4:30 a.m.
Step 1 Emergency shutdown of servers and complete removal of shapeshifter event.
2. Compensation box for the eye bleach we had to apply while witnessing this abomination
3. Never talk, tease, or speak of the shapeshifter event again.
4. Hope the new company which just bought GGE does not hear all the complaints about this.
5. Promise better events in the future (lol)---at least pretend you are trying and that GGE executives are not going to bail when their contracts allow them to (already got their golden parachutes ready)/

Good points. What would be better rewards? They've basically exhausted what they can give us because the game is limited to a) tools, b) decos, c) EQ and d) widget mats

Just a correction to your post: all players, especially top players, need widget materials. They are the only way for those of us who are finished building to grow.

Given that you can lose absolutely nothing in this event and still get tokens for the rewards, people aren't (only) complaining because they hate this event, but because they're just angry at GGE's terrible and game-wrecking decisions recently.

Re: the event. If you hate it, just send 32 of whatever troops to whatever totems are around your castle, ignore all defenses and you'll lose nothing while gaining tokens to buy widget materials with.

Re: the game's recent development. It's miserable and driving it's customer base away. I can't see GGE's next year making profit at this pace of terrible decisions.

Gold coins? Build items? I know that monthly events reward a lot of tools and so do invasions as well, but extra gold coins would come in handy for a reasonable price that easily affordable. Let's just say for example for 1 charm each you make like 2,000 gold coins, because you can not get any gold coins for attacking Shapeshifters and build items that you can buy from the shop might come in handy as well. The extra gold coins would only cost charms, but depending on how good the build items are they would cost insignias or they would cost charms. Normal build items up to rare that would cost charms at a more expensive price than the widget mats especially at the upper level of rare and base food build items would cost insignias with the limit being level 7 just like the Kahn's Revenge. Now a level 7 base may cost a lot more than the insignia widgets if it were to be added into the rewards at the same price perhaps as the pool of summoning for level 7, but just a thought. Was also thinking about gems as well which was also available at one time for the royal capital event for both the 9 piece commander and also the ordinary gems as well. What about special troops as well that could be spent on as well? That could be useful as well with horrors which would not include veterans perhaps costing insignias and traveling knights costing charms or something like that.

Yeah, widgets would be good for sure. I guess coins just so people have something to do when they're completeyl done everything.

There's a display error in how many blue tokens you get from attacking.

My BR reads "6" but I got 24.

[4882215] silbrman (US1) [US1] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 7:27 a.m.
I just completed the first day's event. As it is structured at present it is neither fun nor productive. Anyone with any common sense will leave thousands of defenders (7-12K) in the castle making it almost impossible to lose. This goes both ways. Sure you might find someone who has no sense and a win could be scored, but as the event progresses thre will be fewer and fewer who fall into this category.

Nice try but this event needs major rework.

[4882257] OxO (AU1) [AU1] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 7:51 a.m.
I think the event has potential, but needs several changes as mentioned in previous comments.
Only thing I'm curious about, is if we will get any form of compo for the needless additional tools we're using where the castles are neither NPC or PvP? I have castles with 6k+ in the CY, and 600 on the wall. The fact that bonuses aren't working correctly means these types of target are nigh on unbeatable, which is fine - and different/realistic - but if bonuses were working correctly then I might be able to break these flanks more quickly, if at all, saving myself a wave or more of tools; or I would have more chance of winning the CY giving me better points for rankings.
*several major changes and bug fixes

[4882260] Diavolo (US1) [US1] :: Dec. 16, 2017, 7:53 a.m.
Also, the event needs to give us food, wood and stone, if not more resources. Especially considering that FI no longer provide much in the way of food, if we have an extra event running that doesn't kill our troops, we're going to be running into huge food deficits and sending out our entire armies for hours at a time against imaginary castles does not feed them.
