********************************************************************
After a couple weeks I began to see why they did not want to come, the trail was covered in dangerous things, of course they did not send me away without armor and a weapons, as I passed by a robber baron, and he could see some soldiers peering at him menacingly, I also passed by some nomads, who I could here a booming voice come from, even from how far I was from them, as I was at camp, I saw a raven on a tree, it cawed at me. I frowned at it.
"No the food is for quest to the emperor" I said.
It hopped onto the ground, by the light of my fire I could see it had an oddly shaped body for a raven.
"Stay back".
I reached for my sword, it was a special sword, a horror sword, they had given me that a horror crossbow, and horror armor, it all gave of a glint that made it look like it was on fire, the raven did not look intimidated, I swung, and it finally flew off.
But then I figured...what the heck.
I shot it down with my crossbow, it would make a nice meal, now don't you think I would be surprised when it flew off unharmed, my arrow only made it stumble in it's flight, I grabbed my arrow from the ground, I turned back to the firelight, man it was bright, IT WAS BRIGHT, I scrambled over to put it out before, nope, I could hear the gates to a robber baron castle opening.

As I moved around the cave I discovered that the war had begun with some group, probably ISIS launched a ton of nuclear bombs, and made each country think the other countries did it by messing up their records, causing several air assaults, electronic assaults, manned assaults, and eventually, an Atomic World free-for-all, leaving billions dead, in the end, everything was left in turmoil, the USA, the richest of them, had won, although they still had received quite a beating, from there, the USA had taken the liberty of taking charge.
"Wow." it was hard to think that while he had been in the machine, that much had happened.
"So what happened after these pictures ended?" I asked.
"Well, The Emperor, rose to power and created the Great and Good Empire, or the GGE, if you are abbreviating it.
"Oh, I never got your name".
You can call me...Scienicus
I asked "Who is "The Emperor"?
"All anyone knows, well, except Ludwig, and whoever else works for him, is that he's in charge."

One day I asked how to get the amount of glory that Ludwig wanted for one of the prizes he was offering, Everyone said to go to the square, to his camp.
"Hey, I'm here to ask Ludwig what he wants for the 10,000 coins" I asked the person at the camp.
"Oh, just 100 glory" said a person who appeared dressed fancily in expensive clothes."If you want, I could show you the best place around you for glory".
"Okay"
Ludwig took him on his carriage to a castle not so far away.
"There should be some easy targets over here" he dropped me off, I hadn't ever really been outside of the castle, I saw there were many castles quite close together.
I went inside the castle closest. I walked slowly under the blackened gates, when I walked in I saw fires everywhere, everything was terrible, no one was around, I entered the castle, the roof was burning so I was careful, I searched around, I finally found a room with voices coming from it.
"Hold on, don't give up" I heard an anguished voice say.
I knocked on the door, all noise stopped, finally a person came up to the door and opened it a crack.
"There are still alive citizens!" she swung open the door, she said to someone laying on the bed, see, there is something to build off of!
"It has no point anymore" he said. "I cannot survive without these constant attacks".
"Tell me what happened" I commanded.
"I was foolish is what happened, I shouldn't have done, that one action was my fall, and why not they said, Ludwig offers such good rewards, for them, what of the others, but no, it's only me who see's that, no one else would care would they, they want the rewards so they can survive against the others, WHY, why must we do this, why must we go through this routine, attack, attack, attack, attack, sabotage, all so that we can be the pets of the emperor, TELL ME YOU WILL NOT, TELL ME YOU WILL BE DIFFERENT, TELL ME! the man screamed froth spitting from his mouth.
"What happened" I repeated in a soft tone.
"I was farmed for glory, honor and resources, all because of those stupid rewards, after all who could resist so much money, FILTHY RICH! Promise me you'll take of the castle, he said softly to the woman" he held out a key.
"But what will you do" she asked.
"Don't worry, I'll be here, but you'll be in charge.
She began to cry.
I left, now I knew how to get glory, but I was sickened by it.

I felt pure hatred for the emperor, forcing the demise of people for those stupid prizes, I would find him, and stop this madness.
No one would go with me, all of them immediately shook their heads, and scampered off to hide, so I set off on my own.
Before I could leave I went to Ludwig's camp and "borrowed" a map to lead him back home, I doubted he would need it he had made the trip a thousand times anyway....

I readied my crossbow to fire, and hid behind a rock that I was next to.
If I'm lucky they won't search over here, I thought. But just as the world would have it they searched where he was first. Just my luck, may as well speed things up.
I peered out and aimed my crossbow at ones head, trying to keep it steady I held it, and held it, and finally, adrenaline pumping through my veins, pulled the trigger.
The arrow disappeared into the darkness, but when an enemy soldier hit the ground, an arrow in his face, I knew I had hit him.
"TUKAE KIBEAR THIEARN" the Baron Commander shouted in their language . The Barons scattered for cover, from my rock I managed to take out out 2 more of them, thunk, thunk, with 4 left I dropped my crossbow and charged with my sword, I did not know what I was doing, half of me said WHAT ARE YOU DOING, the other half, said bring it on.
I shouted, and seeing me, they stood up and entered defensive stances, I continued my charge, they altered their stances to brace my impact, suddenly I veered to the opposite side of where they were defending from, bent diagonally, making it look like I was swinging for his side, then I rolled, and swung in an uppercut from behind him, slicing open his back.
Two of them looked with wide eyes the other jumped to the other side of the rock, I walked up to them slowly, my mind was screaming, HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS, my body was calm, as if I was doing a routine.
Shouting, I suddenlyleaped at them, causing them to panic, but it did not help them against the ark of my sword, I quickly cut them both down.
When I finished I remembered the other Baron, as I turned, I felt an agonizing pain in my thigh, he had shot me with his crossbow!
Glaring malevolently at the Crossbowman Baron, I ran, despite my wound, he shot me again, and I stumbled, but I kept going, obviously trying to stop my advancement with my legs, he shot my foot, this time I almost fell, I could tell he was afraid, the next shot he missed, and when he reached for another arrow, he realized he did not have one, he began to draw his sword but, too late, I made a deep slice through his chest.
I turned, and saw the commander was running back to his castle, I ran to my crossbow, picked it up and shot, it whizzed through the air, where it melted into the darkness, I held my breath, and when I heard a thunk I breathed again, I had hit the castle, the commander ran inside and closed it after him.
I retrieved my arrows, gathered my stuff, pulled out the arrows, made a rough bandage, and left, despite the staggering pain, before they sent another attack.
Now, with the Barons out of sight, I assessed my wounds, they were minor, the crossbow the Baron had must had been the Craigslist Emperor of cheap products, wait, what was Craigslist again, I had forgotten, seeing a spot surrounded in rocks that gave pretty decent cover, I went underneath it, and lay down sprawling against the earth, I thought of how nice it would be to have a nice soft bed, wait what, what was a bed.
Ugh, curse this amnesia, I thought, as I drifted into sleep, again, I couldn't help but feel like this had already happened.

Great job with this last one, it felt as though I were actually the main character, fighting from his perspective, feeling everything he felt, unfortunately this included the arrow to the thigh, knee, and foot. . .
"I was a great warrior once, until I took an arrow to the knee."~ Skyrim
P.S How is he still able to retreat from the battle with an arrow through his foot? Logically it would have gotten stuck in the ground and pinned him there, but he keeps on moving despite the pain, and then rolls with arrows still sticking out of his legs, picks up his supplies, and runs away, still with three arrows sticking out of him, how is this possible?

You do know what happens when you pull an arrow out right?
What would have really happened: He would have collapsed from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and shock, because of the three foot long arrows sticking out of his leg, bled till he lost consciousness or died, and/or needed someone to carry him back to a hospital for a several month long rehabilitation.
The way arrows are crafted makes it incredibly difficult to pull them out, the tip is barbed like a bees stinger or a harpoon, though it is closer to the harpoon, a weapon used for killing whales, by yanking on them hard enough, he would have torn out a good hunk of his flesh, and the one in his foot wouldn't have come out as there are a lot of small bones, being held together by cartilage, the arrow would have gotten lodged between his foot bones.
- First, you look really awesome
- You bleed to death

I hate to refute you here noble but it isn't PTSD that kills you it is just good old fashioned shock .... most medieval arrows were not tipped with anything other than a sharpened point as arrow heads made of steel were far more expensive than sharpened sticks and castle lords were quiet often .... broke .... hence the attacks on the neighbors ....

I included shock, and when I said that he would have died I was referring to the shock and blood loss, but I also know that it was common back then to use slightly longer arrows, that would have gone straight through his knee, and yes, breaking the arrow would have probably helped to fix the problem until they could remove it, however, pulling the arrow out without causing PTSD and shock would be incredibly difficult, not to mention that there would already be shock from the three foot long arrow sticking out of him. And PTSD makes it very difficult to sleep, so I don't think that the protagonist would be sleeping on a bed of moss right now, rather, he would more likely be waking up every few minutes from horrifying nightmares, and the cent of the blood would be attracting many predators as well. The main character need to find a settlement as quickly as he can, he probably won't survive the night with Criminals, predators, and PTSD, not to mention shock, and blood loss. In the end, no matter the cause, he is going to die if he doesn't get help soon.

you can only get PTSD if you survive the initial trauma and shock of the injury I know " I used to be an adventurer like you ... until I took an arrow in the knee " .... remember ?

That still leaves shock, predators, and robber barons, the predators can smell him, weather he is bleeding or not, and the Robber Barons can probably hear him snoring (If he snores) Also, I'd like to see him dealing with his PTSD later on, it's not like he is a trained soldier, battle hardened for this kind of thing, and even they get PTSD. . .

After a terrible night, I woke up, the wounds from the arrows, were not deep, but they hurt something awful, maybe they're infected, I had expected to wake up in a hospital, but that seemed silly now, that only happened in child's fair tales, this was real life, I painstakingly got up, gathered my stuff, surprised the Barons hadn't found me, maybe they hadn't looked after what I had done to them, how did I do that, and how was I taking those arrow shots so nicely, I limped off into the barren rocky area I had entered, no animals were in sight, so that's why I hadn't been eaten by an animal.
I staggered on, I would need to stop at one of the plentiful castles, unfortunately the reason it was so barren, is because there were not many castles around, just ruins, and Barons, I would have to make sure not to go close to those...unless....
I went back to where the Barons I had killed were, and took their armor.
